Tom Stanford is the Asst Vice President/Division Manager, M&S University, M&S Operation of IITRI AB Tech Group, located in Alexandria, VA. He joined IITRI AB Tech Group in March 95 after a 23 year career as an Army Field Artilleryman where he served in a variety of command and staff assignments in the U.S., Germany, and Turkey.

Tom manages IITRI’s M&S Education Division. This includes oversight of the Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO) Education Program and providing M&S education products on-site to a wide variety of DoD and commercial agencies. Since its inception in 1997, Tom’s division has presented M&S education instruction to over 7,000 attendees worldwide at conferences such as I/ITSEC, MORS Symposium, DMSO’s Executive Forum on M&S, ITEC Europe, Euro-SIW, SCSI, SIW, PfP M&S Conference, and ITEA. Examples of DoD agencies that have benefited from M&S education opportunities include the Defense Leadership and Management Program (DLAMP), Army War College, Naval War College, Air University, ICAF, MARCORSYSOCM, USSOCOM, COMOPTEVFOR, Eglin AFB, Hanscom AFB, Lackland AFB, Arnold AFB, Ft Sam Houston, Ft Leavenworth, White Sands Missile Range, SPAWAR, NAVSEA, and NAVAIR. Tom has taken or sent his teams to present courses in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Uzbekistan.

Tom received an Ed.S Degree in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University, the Master of Science degree in Education from Longwood College, and the B. S. in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy. He has authored numerous articles on M&S education for the DMSO newsletter and the MSIAC Journal.
